“‘We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have ‘

As the decade comes to an end I reflect on both the decade and the year. I started the decade…the year 2000… single, having just completed graduate school and moved back to Colorado. I then bought my own home and ran a full marathon and met my future husband all in that same year!
I could go on about all the things that happened over the last 10 years (kids, parenting challenges, etc!) or sum it up with a feeling of gratitude for the lessons I’ve learned from each new person I’ve met and each new experience I’ve faced.
I’ve been challenged tremendously and I’ve grown because of these challenges and these lessons. And most importantly….I choose to keep growing. As I move to a new year and new decade, I’m making choices to continue with my career growth and my connection and passion to the health & wellness industries. I will continue to work on my relationships with my family and my children and can honestly say that I now understand the meaning of “it takes a village” to raise children! My aunt once said to me that she was the best parent ever before she had kids. I repeat this all the time now to lend humor and compassion to one of the hardest jobs there is- parenting!
Happy holidays and best wishes for wonderful 2011!
