I keep learning this lesson over and over. If I “prepare” the night before, I start my day in a peaceful, patient mindset. It seems like I have so much more time. I get more done AND spend more quality time with the kids instead of cranky time. I priortize well. I fit my workout in.
It’s hard though. We get the kids to bed. The house is often a disaster. I’m too tired to clean up or do anything. I feel like watching my backlog of shows on the DVR, like my husband gets to do.
Last night, I did ignore the house and did some work on the computer and then went to bed. I struggled all day today to pick up yesterday’s messes while today’s added up. Tonight, I tucked the kids in, put my sneakers on and got in speed cleaning/organizing mode.
So the house is by no means detailed but at least the dishes are done and everything is picked up. I even have my coffee pot set to turn on in the a.m. AND my hubbie is folding all the laundry while he’s watching t.v. 🙂
I’m looking forward to a wonderful day tomorrow!
The best part is that you have your husband helping you…and that you communicated to him that that’s what you need. You can’t do it all yourself and a marriage is a partnership.
